Victorians associated the Amaryllis flower with feminine strength and power. The giving of the Amaryllis flower in the Victorian era symbolised significant respect and admiration.
In addition to the popular red variety, the Amaryllis can be purple, pink, yellow or white. The colour white is often said to symbolise purity and spirituality. White Amaryllis flowers can also symbolise children and innocence.
