The Columbine flower is a colourful perennial wildflower. Somewhat unusual in appearance, they are delicate little things and remind me of small prehistoric deep sea creatures. The ancient Greeks and Romans attributed them to Aphrodite, the goddess of love.
This photograph is an 80 shot focus stack for macro depth of field. As with so many botanicals it looks rather heroic when magnified as a large format print!
