A glass half full kinda guy. This little dinosaur’s sticky feet give him an amazing spidey superpower to grip and run around on super-smooth surfaces including glass. His toes have millions of microscopic hairs called setae that in turn branch out to form billions of tiny contact points called spatulae.
Science is still working out why this grip allows these Geckos to both cling to Teflon smooth surfaces and let go when they want to move. And they move very fast. They reckon they can change the angle of the setae to easily detach themselves but the bio-mechanics are extremely complex and have led to a branch of scientific research known as “Gecko Tech”.
