A painterly study of faded white tulips in black and white. Much as I love fresh flowers, there is something beautiful about dead or wilting flowers too. Maybe a little wistful but somehow poetic!

They were a popular subject in the 17th century Dutch Vanitas still-life school of painting which explored these themes.
