Swamp lilies, or Crinum powellii are also sometimes referred to as Spider lilies. They are hardy perennials in the southern U.S. but will grow in sunny spots in cooler climates. They have long strappy leaves and fragrant trumpet-shaped pink flowers that grow in clusters. The plants bloom on and off from early through late summer. In Greek mythology, the lily flower symbolised the goddess Hera and represented rebirth and fertility.
