The rainbow lorikeet gets its name from its bright, multi-coloured plumage. Both sexes have similar colours and bright orange beaks and red eyes
It is common along the eastern seaboard of Australia, from northern Queensland to South Australia. Its habitat is rainforest, coastal bush and woodland areas.
