Cosmos flowers are wonderfully easy to grow and flower constantly through the summer and autumn months. They have beautiful evenly spaced symmetrical petals. The name is derived from the Greek word Kosmos which means orderly, beautiful, and ornamental. These flowers are native to Mexico and were brought to Europe by Spanish Conquistadors in the 16th century. It is said that the name was given by Spanish priests as a symbol of order and harmony in the universe. The Cosmos flower has come to represent many positive attributes, including order, harmony, tranquility, peace, innocence, and love.
