New flower portraits

New series of flower portraits. Summer 2023.

Recently awarded first prize in the Professional Nature/Flowers category at the International Photography Awards 2023

My fascination when photographing flowers is observing the detail within natures design. The closer you get, the more you see. These flower portraits have all been photographed in macro using a focus stacking technique ranging from 60 - 160 shots at different focal points and then blended to create deep focus from the nearest to farthest points of the subject. This is the only way to create the necessary depth of field when shooting close up with a macro lens.
